"Thought provoking spontaneous interaction at Azam Campus ”
The organization of SAYC gave the participants a chance to visit the 130 years old
Azam Campus, this educational institute intended to facilitate the Muslim community
comprises different colleges ranging from Law, Architecture and Management courses.
The session started with a short theatre skit, followed by kids dancing on the tune
of national integrity. This affectionate artistic welcome of the youngest of our
generation compensated the exhaustion travelling to the campus.
The opening speech was given by the chairman of the Azam Campus Mr. Pheerbhoy. He
expressed some memorable thoughts on global warming and the way we treat our environment;
“It took millions of years for species to evolve but mankind is destroying it in
seconds.” This shows how today, man possesses tremendous power to turn the tide
on our mutual environmental struggles if only we could use it for the betterment
of nature.
The spontaneous speeches of the participants and the relevant questions they asked
on topics like; terrorism and the problem or war in Afghanistan provoked many to
react. Fortunately the participants were given the opportunity to debate on cinema,
westernization, a day in a life of the other to express their views and opinions
amongst themselves as well. Finally there were a lot of topics raised to think about,
even as the SAYC members go home.
