 TARANG
TARANG (Training Adolescents on Reproductive health And Gender) program is to reach out to Adolescents girls and boys in schools and communities so that gender based violence is stopped and better socialization opportunities are created between adolescents in schools and communities. In order to sensitize the adolescent on issues related to sex-sexuality in general and HIV/AIDS in particular, CYDA is organizing awareness and training session with Schools located in Pune district since the last four years during the process of which, we have developed 16660 students in 4 years as peer educators. Also, in this year, we developed 1734 as peer educators, which means we developed 440 students as peer educators in only 3 months. Thus, this together results in a development of 18394 students as peer educators in the last 4 years.
At present, these peer educators are taking more interest to sensitize students in schools and drop out adolescents in their own community. Our study and report has shown that each of the adolescents who got trained as peer educators, gave information to 10 students such that many students would get scientific information regarding the same. The participants could easily share any issue and feel free to ask any question. Hence, more and more adolescents were getting scientific information regarding the issues. Please log on to see the details.
