I joined the Diploma in Counselling course to hone my skills as a counsellor. I've been working as a corporate trainer and was always good at giving people a new perspective. However, the course engaged me to delve deeper into myself, giving insights into my own behaviour. The course turned out to be serendipitous in nature, as I saw myself visiting new realms of myself and my life in 3 dimensions--the past, present and future. The course design is meticulous with a seamless structure, introducing concepts interspersed with life skills and field work. All these equipped us with a powerful tool-set to wield from when we set our foot in the field work. The field practicum is in fact the most challenging part of the course, enriching us with hands on experience of working in the real world.

The rigourous design of the course ensured that we invest ourselves wholeheartedly. By the first term we are became a team working side by side to achieve a common goal. And with friendships that grew stronger, which is the most beautiful take away from the course. I would do it all over again if I was allowed!!!

The field of psychology and counselling always attracted me, which is why I became so interested in the Counseling Course and believed it to be a great fit for me. This part-time course is designed for adult working population, who are ready to engage in counselling skills.

I joined the counselling course with great enthusiasm and excitement and also a little anxiety in mind. Being a doctor- a homeopathic practitioner, I was little concerned about the time demand of the course. In the beginning of the course itself, we began to realize the enormity of the task. However, with extremely competent faculty and guidance from TISS (Mumbai), things started becoming less exhausting. Of course, the assignments, class presentations, group work kept us on our toes!!!

Other than extensive knowledge about counselling theories and techniques, the course helped me develop greater awareness of 'self ', build personal qualities for growth and professional development as necessary requisites for effective counselling. In the beginning of the course, we were a bunch of people from different fields, who became close friends at the end of the year. We thoroughly enjoyed working together for the group assignments, class presentations, also for the exams!!!

Now working as a school counsellor for CYDA, I apply the knowledge I gained from the course and see its effectiveness.
