Migrant Matters

As most migrant workers are not formally registered with employers or state authorities, they often do not have the requisite identification cards and documentation required to access various government schemes and benefits under the law. Thus, CYDA partnered with SVP Philanthropy Foundation to implement the Migrants Matter Project with the objective of creating an enabling environment for migrants to restore livelihood and dignity in Pune district.

Started in 2021 and is currently working with the migrant workers of Yerwada, Warje and Katraj areas of Pune. The project has setup 3 Kamgar Kalyan Samwad, Seva, Shayog Kendra (KSSSK) in these areas and is conducting awareness, registration, entitlement, health camps, skill development trainings and job placements through these centres. We reached thousands of workers through labour naka visit and registered 2000 + workers under BOCW portal.
